Developing Young People and Entrepreneurial Spirit
We feel that it is important to nurture the life skills of our young people today,
the employees or entrepreneurs of tomorrow. As such, we have made donations to a
variety of youth organisations, charitable associations, and educational events.
We are also a member of the Business in the Community 'Community Mark' (formerly
the 'Percent Club'), donating 1% of our pre-tax free profits to the community every
year. Here are just two of the many worthwhile national organisations we support and
commend: ![]() Duke of Edinburgh's Award SchemeBernard Matthews Farms is honoured to be one of the first companies to be invited to
be a Founder Charter Member of the DofE Awards, and has been since 1992, supporting
physically and financially wherever possible. We also encourage participation in
a company run D of E scheme for all
employees. ![]() The Prince's TrustBernard Matthews Farms himself started from humble beginnings, and knows the difficulties
in starting a business from scratch. Since 1999, we have supported The
Prince's Trust which aims to develop and hone the business skills required to
help get young people up and running. |
